Blue Mountain Center of Meditation & Nilgiri Press

Spiritual Tools for Finding Balance in a Hurried World

The Blue Mountain Center of Meditation offers instruction and guidance in meditation and allied living skills, based on Eknath Easwaran’s Eight Point Program for spiritual growth. The Eight Point Program is a complete guide to meditation that fits naturally into your life – even complementing an active religious practice.

The benefits of this Eight Point Program:
1)sharpen concentration
2)deal effectively with stress
3)release deep reserves of energy
4)transform anger
5)leave behind painful memories and live fully in the present
6)develop unsuspected capacities of insight and understanding
7)learn to love more fully than they had thought possible
8)discover their unique contribution to life

In Learn to Meditate you will find complete instructions in Eknath Easwaran’s method of passage meditation and a full discussion of the other spiritual practices of his Eight Point Program.

You can also subscribe to their newsletter.

Eknath Easwaran

Eknath Easwaran, founder of the Blue Mountain Center of Meditation, was well known as a scholar, writer, and speaker in India before coming to the U.S. on the Fulbright exchange program in 1959. His deepening practice of meditation led him to move, as he put it, “from education for degrees to education for living.” [ More ]

Easwaran became possibly the best integrator of Eastern and Western wisdom on the contemporary scene. His brilliance lies in distilling wisdom from all religions and shaping it into a practical, doable Eight Point Program for people living busy lives in the midst of their families and communities. He passed away in 1999, leaving a legacy of books and talks recorded on video and audio, as well as dedicated students to further his work under the leadership of his wife, Christine Easwaran.

Quarterly Journal
The Blue Mountain, a journal of spiritual inspiration and support, contains articles by Eknath Easwaran, and shares stories from some of our friends near and far, telling about the ways they are incorporating the Eight Point Program into their diverse lives.
